Dayvora Maria Ortega is a Filipino-American R & B singer- songwriter who was born and raised is Los Angeles. Dayvora’s parents, Bienvenida Ordonez-Pagcanlungan and Cornelio Pagcanlungan, discovered her talent at an early age. Her mother, who also grew up creating acoustic music with her siblings and loves all types of music, found that Dayvora took a specific liking to the R & B genre. “In the 80’s Whitney Houston was huge in the music industry,” Dayvora’s mother says. “Whenever Whitney sang on the radio or TV, Dayvora would grab the broomstick and act as if she was on stage singing right along, surprisingly with range!!” With that discovery, Dayvora has been asked to sing at local events and parties in the greater Los Angeles area and has since been accomplishing her goal of becoming a recording artist. In elementary school, junior high and high school, she was requested to sing at events such as school plays, talent shows and music recitals. She was also privileged to receive the “Music Achievement Award” after performing the National Anthem during her senior graduation at the famous Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Currently, Dayvora is working on a few projects to further her music career. She is the lead singer of the band “Perfect Tone” and is supporting artists such as Ella May Saison who is the Queen of Filipino Soul. Ella gave recognition to Dayvora at a recent concert, acknowledging her as a “very talented singer” among the line-up of artists. Dayvora is also working on her independent solo album, produced by J4U Inc. She’s taking the opportunity in the studio to record, learn and better define herself as an individual artist. Dayvora can trust that her natural singing ability will gain her the recognition she deserves in the music industry. |
